Veterinary Students & Veterinary Professional Curriculum
(Intended for Students Pursuing Degrees in Veterinary Medicine Including
Residents, Interns and Graduate Students)
As one of three campuses of the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine, the Marion duPont Scott Equine Medical Center offers a variety of opportunities for students pursuing degrees in veterinary medicine. Residency Training Programs and Graduate Programs
Residency training programs in equine internal medicine and surgery are offered by the Marion
duPont Scott Equine Medical Center. These residency programs are fully approved by the
American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine and the
American College of Veterinary Surgery.
Veterinarians in residency training programs participate in a graduate training program leading to a degree of Masters of Veterinary Sciences. A wide range of courses are available through several campuses. Graduate programs leading to the Ph.D. degree are also offered.

VMRCVM Fourth Year Veterinary Students
Fourth-year veterinary students at the VMRCVM in the mixed animal and equine clinical tracks
rotate through the Marion duPont Scott Equine Medical Center for three and six weeks, respectively.
Faculty members participate in lectures in the pre-clinical curriculum and videoconferencing
technologies provide distance learning opportunities among students and faculty at the Marion
duPont Scott Equine Medical Center, the College Park-Maryland campus, and the main campus of the
Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in Blacksburg.

Academic Visitors
Interested veterinary students and veterinarians may visit the Equine Medical Center to develop skills in the diagnosis and treatment of equine medical and surgical disorders.
